The masterplan form is generated through an apparently opposed operation: Integration and differentiation. This simultaneous operation that generates continuous spaces, that have a distinct identity is the key to “make city”. The design process starts with a series of actions that look to generate a global vision of the project: responsiveness to topography, grid and open space concept. It then continues with specific differentiation techniques such as district making, and generation of public spaces with specific identities.
